We have had a busy month at the Carshare with including purchasing a new truck and adding two new business members UBC and the Capitol Theatre!  I want to share this members story with you because for me this is what makes me so proud to be working at the Carshare:

Tobi Jenny saved $200,000 by joining the carshare! Before becoming a member he was spending $700/month on car payments. When they got rid of their car they transferred the $700/month onto their mortgage payments which reduced their term from 15 to 5 years! This amazed me! Another piece of wisdom shared by this member was. and I quote: " Do what makes sense financially and economically and the ecology will follow."

• Gas surcharge this month:  this will be our first gas surcharge since December 2012.  Remember if you can use an efficient vehicle for your trip everyone benefits! Check out  Green Driving Tips .
• Annual Shine and Dine Event: June 23rd @ 4:45pm at 1918 Silverking Road (location of the Rendezvous) we will need volunteers to bring vehicles up to the location.  It takes about an hour then we order pizza and the board will be bringing salads!  Come and meet your fellow carshare members.
• Carshare at Tiny Lights Festival: Come visit our booth in the sustainability village and share your story with prospective members!
• Volunteers needed for Wednesday Markets: We will be sharing a booth with the Eco Society every second Wednesday and need volunteers to man the booth.  Do you want to attend markets in your community? We would be happy to pay the market fees and raise the profile of Carsharing to grow your branch.
• Minimum booking policy changed: As per the previous notice we have changed the minimum booking time to 15mintes to save you money on your short trips.
• Pens and legible logs: There has been an issue with people using pencils and broken pens to fill out logs.  We replace our pens every month with our log pickups.  Please do not take the pens and make sure your logs are legible. This saves time and money for our billing coordinator.
• Welcome John Bargh to the board: A big thanks to John for joinning our board of directors.  His experience in the transportation sector will be a valuable asset.  There is still room for three more board members, contact the office if you are interested.
• Keys found in truck: There were a set of four keys with a Coldwell Banker key chain found in the Dodge Ram.  Contact the office to claim them.
• New Dodge Dakota Truck in Nelson: This vehicle replaces the Ranger that was removed from the fleet in March.  Big thanks to Terry for responding to the last newsletter and sending us the details on this truck.
