A few words about this week's run
This week will be a celebration (every week is some kind of celebration, if you haven't figured that out yet) of Running Day, Beer Week, and my return to sea level and the US. I'll look forward to meeting the new runners from the last two weeks and seeing all the ole familiar faces again.

West Philly Runners, in coordination with Fishtown Beer Runners, are holding a Fundraiser for the Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery to support their incredible work in preserving the expansive grounds of the cemetery after decades of neglect, trash dumping, and vandalism.
It may seem like a bit of a strange cause for running groups to get behind, but it's not when looking at Mt. Moriah as a green space. The cemetery is effectively an extension of Cobbs Creek Park, which we have been big on supporting in the past by helping put on the Cobbs Creek 5K race. We want to help the Friends of Mount Moriah restore the cemetery so that it can be used as a public green space -- and as a place to run, of course!
On Wednesday June 18th, West Philly Runners will end our run at City Tap House Philly City Tap House for the fundraiser, but of course *non-runners are welcome*, so spread the word!
We will ask for a $10 donation at the door, which will get you great beer specials (huge thanks to the support Jon Lyons and Southern Tier Brewing Company in making this possible). We will also have raffle tickets with some great prizes from local businesses!
