Dear Friend,
Today we launched our first-ever crowd-funding campaign with Kickstarter to complete the Global Jukebox Song Tree. This innovative, free online resource allows users to explore the world's traditional music in ways never before possible, and has much to tell us about ourselves, our communities, and the whole of human culture. Alan Lomax dreamed that it would enable people to access and appreciate their distinctive heritage on an equal basis with everyone else.
With your help ACE can bring this dream to life in time for Lomax’s centennial in 2015.
Your tax-Âdeductible contribution will help complete the remaining programming, verify the metadata related to each song, and bring the Song Tree online. Donors will be given early access to the Song Tree when it reaches the beta stage and before it is publicly launched.
Those who support the development of new technologies to increase appreciation of the world’s traditional music and culture are encouraged to make a contribution to this vital project.
For more information, including a video of support by Dan Zanes and a walk-through of the Global Jukebox Song Tree, visit our Kickstarter page.
As always, thank you for supporting our programs to preserve and promote the music, dance, and oral histories of men and women whose talent and wisdom give a true voice to their communities and our shared cultural foundation.
Sincerely,
Executive Director
