June Newsletter

The garden is in full bloom and while the temperatures are still comfortable, it is a treat to sit among Julie's blossoms and knit.  We hope that you'll stop by for a visit.  Bring a friend and a sack lunch and make an afternoon of it!  Of course you can plan your visit for the 14th when we'll be celebrating Knit in Public day!

New yarns are arriving everyday and we keep finding great projects to work on and inspire you with.  We'd love to share them all with you.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
More New Arrivals from Madelinetosh

We are continuing to receive new shipments from Madelinetosh.  We just received Unicorn Tails. These mini skeins are 100% superwash merino wool, single-ply yarn, with 52 yards on each twist. (This is the same base as the tosh merino light).  They are perfect for granny squares, colour swatching ideas, fairisle and other colourwork.

Dawn has some terrific accessory pattern ideas that could make the most of these mini skeins.  Some of our favorites include:

The Kitefish Shawlette designed by Leah Coccari-Swift
Purl Bee's Colorblock Handwarmers
Leftie designed by Martina Behm
Purl Bee's Long Striped Handwamers
The Graphic Kerchief designed by Ce Persiano

In the next week or so we are expecting our first shipment of Dandelion.  Dandelion is a single-ply custom blend of 90% superwash merino wool and 10% fine linen. With a generous 325 yards per skein, this fingering weight yarn is more than enough yardage to complete a pair of socks and two skeins can completed a full-sized lace project.

Dawn has been flirting with the idea of using it to cast on for Isabell Kraemer's ...a hint of summer KAL that started a couple of weeks ago.  We can't wait to see what her finished sweater looks like!

Fun FREE Patterns

Ravelry is a great resource for us fiber fans.  We love how easy it can be to find our next source of inspiration.  The beautiful Tote bag is the Summer Fling tote published by Espace Trictot.  We knit it up with two skeins of Euroflax Linen and love how it turned out!
