New Endorsement Report:
The African American Caucus met on Thursday, May 23rd to vet 2014 candidates for endorsement. In addition to pre- answering a series of questions pertaining to issues in Minnesota’s African American Community; members were interviewed in person. A 60% vote, with a quorum, was required for an endorsement.
Two endorsements were contested; the office of Secretary of State and the District 65A State Representative office.
Hilstrom received support for her commitment to “re-enfranchisement of Minnesotans, outreach to all Minnesotans for state commissions and state jobs” and her commitment to on “day 1” expand voting access by making voting registration available in multiple languages.
Margolis received an endorsement for his continued outreach to all communities in Minnesota. Margolis also showed a strong command of key issues in this upcoming election.
The African American DFL Caucus is pleased to announce its endorsement of the following candidates:
Debra Hilstrom: Secretary of State
Rena Moran: District 65A State Representative (St. Paul)
Raymond Dehn: District 59B State Representative (Minneapolis)
Eric Margolis: District 46B State Representative (Hopkins)

Proposed Changes to the DFL Platform
For Review (Urgent):
Greetings,
As we move toward the DFL convention, it is important that we have an understanding of what resolutions may be presented and tentatively supported by the Minnesota DFL.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT:
These resolutions are added to the DFL Platform which the DFL is then committed to achieveing. The DFL leverages its candidates and resources towards the attainment of these goals as they will define what it means to be the DFL.
In short, we need to have a say in what these items are!
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
We are requesting that you review the proposed changes to the DFL Platform, and share the following:
- Whether or not you feel strongly for or against any of the items
- Your concerns that you may have regarding any of the items.
