Bye for now!
Now that May is over, our 2014 Speech and Hearing Month campaign has officially come to a close. Although we’re wrapping up our
#maymonth promotion, our work to increase public awareness is not ending — not by a long shot!
Educating the public about communication health is important, and it doesn't need to stop just because our calendars have turned a new page. We can all work to keep the spirit of Speech and Hearing Month alive throughout the year. Our posters, information sheets and brochures are a great way to keep parents informed about typical
communication health milestones, encourage patients and clients to
learn more about communication disorders and inform students of the importance of keeping those
mp3 players on "low".
Although our campaign has only just ended, we're already looking ahead to next year's Speech and Hearing Month. We're thinking about new resources and materials, of course, but we must also consider what aspects of this year's campaign worked well and what we could do differently. I hope you will spare a few minutes to help us evaluate our campaign by filling out a short survey (please click on the link below). Your feedback is instrumental in helping us deliver an awareness month that grows in strength and effectiveness every year.
And remember: the
Kids' Contest deadline is this Friday (June 6), so you still have time to send in entries from your patients or clients!
Thanks to all SAC members who participated in Speech and Hearing Month this year. Together, we have helped people in Canada to learn about the importance of communication health.
