Welcome to the June issue of Your Community, Your Planet! - check it out - it's hot - almost as hot as this great weather!

Our projects and services...

Volunteer Conversation: thanks to everyone that came along to our Volunteer Conversation - we will be in touch soon with those people that were interested in volunteering with us!

Bike path upgrade info session: from 11am to 2pm on Wed 18 Jun (today!) as part of Bike Week and in partnership wth Sustrans, the Council and Heart of Scotstoun we will be hosting a drop-in information session about the upgrades to the bike path from Whiteinch to Yoker which will take place in the Autumn

Victoria Park clean up: a BIG THANKS to everyone that attended the clean up in the park - over 35 people came along and over 20 bags of rubbish cleared away!

Bike Week: there is lots of wheel-y great stuff happening around the city this week for Bike Week

Bike Week / Recycle Week: this week is both Bike Week and Recycle Week - here's two really easy suggestions about how to get involved!

Active Seniors Day in the Park: we had a great day at this event - check out our photos!

Local Development Plan: the Council are currently consulting on their new Local Development Plan. This includes the proposed FastLink bus along along the route of the bike path. There will be more info available at the Bike Path info session. Deadline for responses is Fri 27 June.

Dates for the Diary: Commonwealth Connections event in Victoria Park on Sat 16 Aug and the Ditch the Dirt anti-dog fouling campaign running from 1 to 14 Sep - more info coming soon!

Other news...

Queen's Baton relay: The Queen's Baton relay will be coming to the West of Glasgow on Mon 21 Jul ending with a Finishing Line celebration event in Victoria Park - tickets for the event are free but you need to register to be entered in the ballot - deadline is Sun 22 June!

Bike Hire Scheme: the new city wide bike hire scheme will go live on Tue 24 June!.

Fix It First:  campaign from Transform Scotland to get the Government to fix existing roads first rather than build new ones

STEP UP reports: the Glasgow STEP UP team have published the results of their citizen survey and the report from their recent community engagement event working towards the City's energy and carbon masterplan.

Mountain Bike investment: the Council has announced £1M of investment in the Cathkin Braes mountain bike centre

Road closures and travel planning: there will be several road closures and change to the local road network during the Commonwealth Games including in the Scotstoun area
