We invite you to "explore the world of science" with us all month long in June!

Pick up your guidebook and complete one of the items/activities listed below and we will give you a free ticket to the Akron Zoo!

CHILDREN: Attend the Akron Zoomobile program Saturday, June 14. Registration required and space is limited.

TEENS & MIDDLE SCHOOLERS: Attend the â€œMad Scientist” program on June 19. Registration is required.

ADULTS: Attend the Kitchen Chemistry program June 14. Registration is required.

ALL AGES: Check out an item from this month’s Explore the World display or bring a donation for the Friends of the Stark Dog Pound.

Bring a donation for the Zion Lutheran Church Food Pantry (a program of the Stark County Hunger Task Force), and $2 in fines will be waived for each item donated, with a maximum of $25 in total credit possible for each account. Any fines that are in the official collections process cannot be waived.

Program runs May 30 through June 30, 2014

This year's Family Film Friday season kicks off with Frozen Friday, June 13.

Children's activities will include face painting, "do you want to build a snowman kits," games provided by MissionView Church, balloon animals and more!

Series sponsor, Premier Bank & Trust will provide popcorn and the North Canton YMCA and Character Counts North Canton will provide frozen treats!

Join us in Witwer Park (adjacent to the North Canton Middle School) for this wonderful family event! Bring a blanket and your friends and family.
 
Children's activities begin at 7:30 p.m. and the film begins at dusk.

iPads now available in the children’s department!

As part of the Early Literacy and Reading Readiness Grant from the Ohio Department of Education that we received in partnership with the North Canton City Schools and Walsh University, the library is fortunate to be the recipient of several iPads complete with literacy apps for use in our children’s department. The goal of the iPad program is to encourage early literacy skill reinforcement.

The iPads can be borrowed for a maximum of two hours at a time and must be used in the children’s department at the library. A user agreement is required. For more information, visit the children’s department desk.

Summer art class registration begins June 4. Registration will take place online.


We're excited to be partnering with several North Canton businesses and organizations to offer programming for Doggone North Canton, August 3-9. Watch for a number of dog related programs coming in August!

Doggone North Canton is a week-long promotion to celebrate dogs and the people who love them, while advocating for homeless dogs in Stark County.
