IT’S FINALLY ALL HERE!

PARTS I - VIII OF THE KRAKEN KING HAVE ALL BEEN RELEASED!

So this is it. You won’t be receiving an email newsletter from me next week, but if you’ve been reading the serial or waiting for all eight parts to be released before you start, you will finally know how THE KRAKEN KING ends.

So how was it? I have a discussion thread up on my blog and I’m always available by email. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts!

I don’t have a date yet for the compiled book release. As soon as I know it, I’ll announce it on my site and list it on my “coming soon” page.

What else is coming soon? Keep scrolling past THE KRAKEN KING information in this newsletter for news about upcoming releases, including a long-overdue novella and a new pen name. I also still plan to write Scarsdale’s story (though it will be longer than a novella, so it has to wait a little longer until my schedule frees up) and Mara and Cooper have been so fun that I’ve decided to write a novella for them, too.

As for the next Iron Seas book ... that will be the Blacksmith’s. No title yet! I'll let you know as soon as I have a great one.

Happy reading!

THE ADVENTURE IS ALMOST OVER...

THE KRAKEN KING AND THE GREATEST ADVENTURE

Arriving in Krakentown with their enemies in hot pursuit, Zenobia doesn’t know how they can even hope to win. Being terrified brings forth an undeniable truth: she loves Ariq and will do whatever it takes to stand by him.

But as their adversaries appear on the horizon, they realize that not all is lost. Drawing on the power of the terrible war machine, Ariq, Zenobia, and the entire town must put their lives on the line to protect what they love…

WHO IS MILLA VANE?

Milla Vane is me! When the Guardian series ended, I began thinking about what would come next. I tossed around a few ideas, but the one that really grabbed me was a series about barbarians -- dark, sexy fantasy romance. So the barbarians are coming!

I'm using a different name because the stories will be a little different from my Meljean Brook stories -- there's a lot of worldbuilding, but I won't focus on it beyond having fun with it. The stories will also include a lot of beheadings and violence, and a darker edge to the sexual aspects. The first novella is coming in November 2014, in the anthology NIGHT SHIFT, which also features stories from Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh, and Lisa Shearin. Milla Vane's (pretty basic for now) website is here, and her newsletter is here.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO FROZEN AND INTO THE LIGHT?

They're coming! Blame Frozen. I was completely burned out after finishing Guardian Demon, and struggled with the story last summer far more than I expected to, rewrote it a billion times, then finally had to let it go and work on The Kraken King, instead. But it's almost done, I know what the problem with it is, and I'll be diving back into it as soon as I've turned in my Milla Vane novella.

So look for it toward the end of June/early July, depending on the editing schedule. And if you haven't already signed up for a free review copy, please feel free! I don't *really* care if you end up reviewing it (although if you do, that would be awesome!) and I think you all have been waiting so long that a free copy is more than deserved. So I'll be sending a copy to anyone who signs up for it through this newsletter.
As for Into the Light (a Guardian novella that fills in the blanks about what happened to Katherine Blake during the events of Guardian Demon) that mostly depends on my deadline for the Blacksmith's book. I hope to complete this novella before I have to begin writing that story. If I do, look for it toward the end of the summer.

If, however, I need to write the Blacksmith's story first, I will push this one back and then decide whether to write Mara and Cooper's novella or this one first. That will mostly depend on whether my brain is still entrenched in the Iron Seas world, or if I'll need a break away from the steampunk.

Then maybe more barbarians? We'll see!
