Support InnerCity Tennis on Wednesday, June 4th!
ICT's Public Hearing is at the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board. The Meeting starts at 5:00pm; Public Hearing begins at 6:30pm
If you love playing at the Reed Sweatt Family Tennis Center, home of InnerCity Tennis, consider supporting them this Wednesday, June 4th! They need to have dozens (or hundreds!) of people turn out to this meeting and testify about the positive impact that the facility has on people's lives and the community it serves.
It is possible that some people will speak against ICT's very existence in Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park. ICT must turn out a vibrant show of support so that the Park Board will approve both their long-term lease and renovation project. If you cannot attend, please send emails, letters, cards and make phone calls to Park Board Commissioners! Detailed information about ICT's renovation plan can be found on the project webpage.

Minnesota Senior Games (August 2 -9)
Tennis will be played at Baseline Tennis Center - August 7 & 8
The Minnesota Senior Games will be held in Bloomington, St. Paul, and Minneapolis, August 2-9. Next year (2015) the National Senior Games will take place right here in the Twin Cities! The 2014 Games is a qualifying event for the 2015 National Senior Games.
This year, tennis will be played at Baseline Tennis Center on August 7 & 8 (cool inside!) There will be divisions for ages 50-54, 55-59, etc. Senior Tennis Games Website / Registration
Note that all registered tennis athletes receive access to 8 hours of free tennis, food and drinks the weekend before the games (August 2 & 3). Details
Serving Clinic - Monday, June 9
Still spots available - you do not need to be a Life Time member to attend!
Come to Life Time Fitness in Bloomington on Monday, June 9th from 8:00-10:30am for a serving clinic with the Life Time teaching pros. Coaches will rotate every 20 minutes to work on different serving skills such as racquet head speed, shoulder snap, using your legs to generate power, toss, and placement/direction tips.

The PTATC is an annual tournament and is considered one of the premier, United States Tennis Association (USTA)-sanctioned, mixed doubles tennis tournaments. It features more than 110 of the area’s top men and women tennis players in a four day tournament.
Ron and Maryanne Peterson created the Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic in 1986 when their 12 year old daughter Julianne was diagnosed with Leukemia. 29 years later, the PTATC now hosts more than 110 of the area's top men and women tennis players and has raised over $4.4 million for children's cancer research.
