What do you see?

Update May 2014

HE PROVIDES!

___________________________________________
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.     Ephesians 1:18-23

Hi <<Preferred Name>>
Have you seen His incomparably great power for you in this season?

Its way too easy for us to focus on the things we lack but with just a slight shift in perspective, God's goodness is jumping out at us to see and take hold of. Just the mere fact that the SAME power that raised Christ from the dead is offered to us on a momentary basis is AMAZING in itself!

I've been super tired lately... and by tired, I mean TIIIIIIIIIRRRREEEDDD! Long work days, homework, early morning baths (GOSH! kids in general) and trying to connect with my husband. With no REAL break I've been in a tough spot. My prayer had been for "REST". A reasonable request but in our circumstances, unlikely. Finally, out of desperation, I started asking God for other things and the thing that hit home was "a perspective shift". I could have had all the rest in the world, and would STILL have seen that everything was against me. But something happened when I asked for a perspective shift, I saw that my eyes had subtly drifted to my circumstances instead of staying on the One who has called me. When I had that revelation, although still tired, I saw my kids love for me. I saw my work as building blocks for a bigger picture. I saw our need as an opportunity for His provision. And I saw a marriage as a model of respect and unity to my children.

I am still tired. No doubt about that! But my heart is full. I have peace and I have HOPE... this hope is my anchor (Heb 6:19) which fosters faith (Heb. 11:1). The eyes of my heart are enlightened. He (the LIVING God) is our HOPE. He has created life. He has conquered death. AND He actively pursues us as His children!

How is he trying to get your attention today? Are the eyes of your heart light? How can you shift our perspective to see Him above all circumstances? How can you rejoice in his INCOMPARABLY great power?

Rejoice
Let us rejoice together as we share some of the things He has done and is STILL doing. May the eyes of your heart be enlightened as we honor the Provider.

HE PROVIDES!

Blessings,
Luke and Angela

Ministry Matters

Youth Street
This past weekend we were able to take some of the Youth Street crew to the 2014 Maker Faire.  Seven of the crew were sponsored to go this year. It was a great opportunity to expose these youth to innovative technologies and unbelievable creativity. What an incentive to stay in school and keep the grades up!
HE PROVIDES!

Ember Concerts
Having Australian band Selahphonic was amazing! A local City Team ministry and our home church hosted the band for back to back shows. We saw over 300 people attend the concerts and 28 salvation responses! HE PROVIDES!

Match
We recently had one of supporters discover that their company has a matching program for non-profit donations. Their recent donation was doubled because of their research! We feel blessed that people are thinking of, advocating for, and even researching how to help us. What an injection of love in a practical way. HE PROVIDES!

More Ministry Updates...

Prayer Requests

Family:

Summer - Its every parent's love/hate season. We finally get to spend time with our beautiful children... ... ... all the time. YIKES! ;) We do enjoy our children and we really are looking forward to this time but we also work from home and are not sure what this is going to look like yet. Please be praying for lots of wisdom and creativity for us as we juggle summer time and work. :)

Rest - Thank you for your prayers for rest. We are really being intentional to actually take time out when we can. In some was we are really looking forward to summer as it will cut back on the homework and allow us to have some family bonding time. Please continue to pray for us as we gain more discernment in the area of how to have rest in a very busy season.

Ministry:

Fundraising -  As this YWAM ministry grows, we are tenaciously seeking and leaning more on the Lord. To move us forward and prepare for this exciting next season of growth in ministry we are believing God to release funds to be able to lease a facility by July!! This is a BIG faith step but we know it will enable us to have much more impact in the community. It will also enable to move offices out of our home which is important for our family.

Feel free to contact us if you'd like to know more about this area of growth for us or would like to help us in fundraising, advocacy or advice.

Staff Housing - As we grow, we need to see some permanent housing for our long term staff. We'd appreciate prayer as we really eed it to be God led in location, rent, landlord, neighbors and timing. With up to 6 staff joining us in July please pray for us!

Haythorpe Happenings

Our car is FIXED!!

Recently we were blessed with some extra money to get the suburban fixed! It is SO VERY nice to be able to go places together again. "Burbs" has served us well and should continue to do so over the next few years. HE PROVIDES!

Xavier's Progress
To say "God is Good" is the understatement of the year! To think that 2 years ago he had less than 10 words. Now he writes the alphabet all on his own, knows all the sounds and he's almost reading! God's abundant provision with Xavier has been more than evident.

We were given an incredibly generous and TIMELY gift a few weeks ago which helped us to get our car fixed and blew away some bills that had piled up. I love how His gifts are so exceptionally well-timed. HE PROVIDES!
