In May 2014, Amrita-Seattle successfully organized an unique “Photography Workshop†event for the visually challenged students in Seoraphuli, West Bengal. It was a 7 day workshop that included 5 students, 2 facilitators, and 2 teachers, Mr. C S Rathore and Ms. G Sharma from Rajasthan School of Art, Jaipur.
The common questions that tickle our mind are...â€Can they do it? Will they be able to take photographs just like a person who can see? If yes, then what changes will it bring to their lives?â€
The teachers, Mr. Rathore and Ms. Sharma said that ---“This is a methodology for visually challenged young adults, who, though unable to see with ‘retinal’ eyes, have a mind-vision, at par and often richer than us, who can see.†Read more

Amrita –Seattle serves one hot meal/month for the homeless teens of Seattle through U-district Teen Feed, University Street Ministry. With the help of this award we will be able to continue providing nutritious hot meals for the homeless youth of Seattle for the rest of the year. Special thanks to Wells Fargo for supporting the Teen Feed program in 2014.
