Powerful pair launch anti wildlife-poaching campaign


Prince William & David Beckham at Google Town HallPrince William and soccer legend David Beckham teamed up Monday to launch a campaign that aims to protect animals from illegal poaching. The campaign #WhoseSideAreYouOn is a new initiative from United for Wildlife. Using this hashtag, the campaign is aimed at the younger generation and begs the question: are you on the side of wildlife, or the side of the criminals responsible for their imminent extinction?

Ocean array could clean Pacific garbage patch

His proposal for an anchored network of floating booms and processing platforms received a lot of criticism – but now, just over a year later, Boyan is back with the results of a year-long investigation that shows his invention does offer a feasible method to rid the world’s oceans of plastic pollution.

I love turtles – book and puppet show


AfriSam Children’s Play CentreI attended the launch of the book at The Afrisam Children’s Play Centre alive with excited children waiting to be taken on a wild ocean adventure of environmental learning. A puppet show was presented to the children in very simple child-friendly language to encourage the very young to participate and get involved in the excitement of meeting a group of animated marine characters, whilst experiencing the memorable journey with Hatch the Turtle.

Over 450 fruit trees planted in Khayelitsha
