Hi, Bloomingdale.

Summer heat, summerheart, kick it up, kick it a part.

Since last we spoke, the state of things, time has passed over April: HoneyBee adventure-destinated to a wedding in Ireland and drank too much whiskey (tales!), BumbleBee built us a garden and then sailed away to Nantucket (future tales!). Yet another Bee is occupying The Hive this summer and until further notice; her name is Dr. Pollock and she is the 'knees, indeed.

From the language of the art of alcohol distillation: the head and the tail exist to nurture the elixir conjured up between the two. We drink the heart and nothing above or below it, the gravimetric center of a contained but entropic process; the heart of the matter is the only point. This table here has been turned over many times since April, seating strangers and lover-ed-ones, alike; dinner on the table for those I had invited and for those who simply requested it, too; love is something made, from what is both given and taken. The art of understanding is a training in patience and intended listening, free from interpretive shrouds and a priori judgements. Love is, whether or not we allow for it. Pour it, drink it in, but kindly fill it up again, too.

I'm learning Parkour, and the result of this training time is a kind of freedom I've not felt in all of my adult life; I've discovered the fabric from which my five year old self's dreams were cut. With intention, anything can be realized. It's the summer, anything is possible, everything is available; hell, there are four different types of leaves pictured above. This is the time to have it, all of it, whatever it is, lets grab it, go go go, blackbird blackbird
.

This Saturday, June 21st at 8pm something beautiful will happen at this table because you'll be sitting at it. For you, anything. So, who are you?

Dinner is a three-course, all inclusive eating and drinking affair, shared with others at a beautiful communal table. A suggested donation of $65 per person is requested.
