Lerner alumni honored

The Lerner College honored distinguished alumni Vance A. Funk III, Ping Xu and Arlene Hogan at the 2014 Alumni Awards of Excellence ceremony and reception held on Friday, June 6, in the Lerner Hall Atrium. Richard Cochran, president of the Lerner College alumni board who graduated from UD in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in finance, presented the awards to winners and spoke to the audience of family, friends and fellow alumni about the selection process.

Lerner faculty honors

A professor with nearly four decades of service to a cause, a professor who has directed over 50 master’s theses and a professor who has repeatedly published in top tier journals were among this year’s faculty and professional excellence award recipients in the Lerner College.

Debra Dragone, Accounting

Debra Gassner Dragone, instructor in the Department of Accounting and MIS, was honored at the end of the semester with the University’s Excellence in Teaching Award.

 

 

William Sullivan, HRIM

William A. Sullivan, managing director of Marriott’s Courtyard Newark at the University of Delaware campus hotel, has been elected chairman of the board of the Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau.
