With the sun shining through SwimTrek HQ windows we are delighted to say that our winter blues have well and truly disappeared. This is an exciting time of the year for us here in the office; where we can reflect on the fantastic trips that have already taken place and eagerly anticipate the many trips still to come.

Simon set the bar high for the upcoming season by achieving a successful crossing of Corsica to Sardinia. This once again got us all dreaming of our Sardinia Emerald Coast tour which will be running throughout July and August.

In this newsletter you can find details of three of our summer trips including Short Swims, Croatia, Lake Bled and the Slovenian Alpâ€™s and the Sardinian Emerald Coast. On top of that you can also find information on our new Sailfish wetsuits and read a blog featuring SwimTrekker Andy's take on the tantalising Turkish cuisine.

Lake Bled & Slovenian Alps

The natural beauty of the emerald green glacial lakes, crystal clear waters of the Soca river and crisp fresh air of the Triglav National Park make Slovenia a great location for a freshwater SwimTrek adventure. Swim the through the tranquil lakes and walk along stunning trails through the Triglav National Park to dip in the Kazjak waterfall.

Open Water Conference

The 2014 Global Open Water Swimming Conference will be held in September at the famous Mount Stuart Castle on the Isle of Bute in Scotland.

The programme will include a swim in Loch Lomond, a Scottish Banquet, dinner dance, speakers from around the world, the international Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, the WOWSA Awards, and will culminate in a swim on Sunday, September 21st by the stunning St Ninian's Bay on the Isle of Bute.

A Taste of Turkey

Self-confessed foodie and SwimTrekker Andy joined us on the Turkish Lycian Way trip; he was in awe of the delights made fresh on board the Gullet each day by boat pilotâ€™s wife Zainab. Enjoying sampling the different salads and dishes he managed to record the recipes to recreate at home. Andy has been kind enough to let us share these with you.

Human Race Swim Events

The Human Race Events, the UKâ€™s leading organisers of mass participation sports events, host a first-class series of six open water swims with options catering for swimmers of all abilities. Distances range from 750m to 10km.

The series visits stunning locations including Hampton Court, Windsor and Poole. The swims take place in a mix of lakes, rivers and even the great wide-open sea! The locations are all idyllic and have been handpicked for their stunning settings. If taking part in one of these events sounds like fun, sign up here!
