You just hiked 10 long miles in 90-degree weather with no water at the end. You just climbed the equivalent of the Empire State Building twice(!) on your way to 22,000 total steps you hiked on a particularly tough day. After carrying 100 pounds of food and gear up a mountain, you set up camp just in time for the sky to open up and dump FML-type rain on you for 3 straight hours, soaking everything you hauled up. No matter how often things go from "Piece of cake!" to "WTF was I thinking?!", you can't help wanting to do it again.
While some of your friends be like, "You crazy...", you're thinking, "You just don't get it..." Welcome to Outerthere Adventures and if you came out with me on any of our last trips, this is what you got and although you may be sore, you actually enjoyed it!
Outerthere trips aren't for everyone. If you want a walk in the park, try Central Park. If you want to sight see, go to the zoo. But if you want to push your limits on a safe and friendly adventure; or if you want to burn more calories in a day than you could in a week on that treadmill; or if you want that Machu Pichu experience (maybe again?) without dropping a small fortune, then come out with me. Isn't that worth getting up early, doing laundry another day, or skipping that same ol' afterwork drinks with the same ol' coworkers you see every day?!
The next trip is on June 21st trip. Don't miss it; your outdoorsy life might never be the same again.

Aug 16, 2014 - Destination Waterfall Kayak Touring, in collaboration with Hudson River Expeditions. You'll typically get an amazing view of the Hudson on an Outerthere trip. Now get a view of our custom trails from the friggin Hudson, while paddling your touring kayak by a waterfall! All gear and instruction included. Beginners-friendly. Details coming soon. NEW Summer - Free kayaking and Kayak Polo (Brooklyn) on the Hudson. The rivers around NYC aren't as bad as you'd think. And it's free.
NEW Summer Thursdays - Paragon Sports and Union Square Partnership kick off Fitness in the Park, every Thursday June 12th through Aug 7th.
June 21 - 5K FoamFest. I don't often do races, K's and -thons. But when I do, there's foam, slides, and white tee-shirts involved. Nuff said. Bonus: it's for a good cause.
NEW June 21 + 22 - Adventures NYC is back! Go and you can climb poles like a lumberjack, too.
June 26-29 - The Hudson River Greenland Festival. It's kayaking, but with Greenland paddles. Which you'll carve out of wood yourself. Yup.
NEW July 6 - The 7th Annual Tour de Queens. Another tour for cyclists.
NEW July 12 - Did someone say free airshow? It's a schlep and you gotta look up a lot, but it's great for kids. And who knows, you might just pick up a new, really expensive hobby.
NEW Sept 13 - Wanderlust Festival, hipsters getting together in Prospect Park for meditation, music, and talks. OK, so this ain't exactly adventury enough for us, but they've got free yoga and it's family friendly.

May 31, 2014 - The Breakneck Thruhike, errbody wants to try this hike because it's hard. But few are brave enough to actually go. These warriors not only did it, they totally owned it! Updated trip beta: awesome, new burgers and beers spot in Beacon for post-hike munchies!
June 8, 2014 - Be Free To Climb Beginner Hike, Sunday hikes suck on Mondays. But, if you're gonna do it, do it like it's the last hike you'll ever go on, which is pretty much how this hike went down. Oh, and snake!
