This Week at the Market..
It's going to be a great day at the market this Thursday - Lots of fresh produce courtesy of the amazing spring weather we've had so far: tomatoes, peaches and berries are now in season! Chipotle Mexican Grill will be demonstrating how to prepare their famous salsa using market produce, there will be live music and activities for the kiddos too! Scroll down for more details and to learn about more summer-fun activities and ways to support and get involved in the local-food movement!
We are looking forward to seeing you at the market, where you can support your local economy, farmers and artisans. We are open every Thursday from 4 to 8pm.
Farm of the week...
Country Gardens Farm
Country Gardens Farm is a multi-generational family farm, located in Coweta County, Georgia. They raise grass fed beef, free range chickens and organic vegetables. They also have a passion to teach others how to grow, cook and preserve good food through classes and community outreach, visit their website and follow them on facebook to learn more. This week they are bringing a fresh harvest of tomatoes, squash and other recently available vegetables, eggs, milk, flowers and more!
"All of our farm food is grown without chemicals, antibiotics, or hormones. Our farm fresh food is grown in a sustainable manner using organic methods. Our animals are treated humanely and have access to pasture every day."
Two baby goats were recently born at Country Gardens Farm so keep an eye out for goat milk coming in the next weeks!

Chipotle has been a part of our My Market Club from the beginning — This summer, they’re ringing in tomato season with what might be the most popular tomato recipe ever – Chipotle’s salsa! Not only will they demo how to make their delicious salsa using fresh, local tomatoes, but they’re also giving you a challenge. They’ll provide you with a list of ingredients available at the market to make their salsa, and a-hunting you will go! Find all the ingredients listed and you’ll be entered to win great market prizes!

Blackberry Cobbler Green Smoothie
Aromatic pie spices make this berry smoothie extra special.
Ingredients
• 1/2 cup fresh blackberries
• 1/2 cup frozen banana chunks
• 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
• pinch each of ground cinnamon and nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
• 1 cup soy milk – If your soy milk is unsweetened, I’d add 1/2 teaspoon
maple syrup to this recipe, since blackberries aren’t very sweet on their
own.
• 1 handful of lettuce
• 6 ice cubes
Directions
• Throw everything into the blender, and blend until smooth. If things aren’t coming together nicely, add a little more soy milk, one splash at a time, until it thins out.

Driving to the market? Park on the sidestreets off Stokewood Ave or try the lot located at 1231 Glenwood Ave - open tonight only from 4 to 8 for market patrons .
