Library Friends

Check out the Friends Second Saturday Sale coming up on July 12! These sales are offered each month from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The first hour is open to members only.   Not a Friends member? Memberships are very affordable and available on our website, at the door on the day of the sale or pick up a membership form at the Welcome Desk the next time you visit the Bloomfield Township Public Library.

Summer Reading @ BTPL

Spark your creativity this summer.  From video editing to knitting circles, cake decorating to writers' groups, we have lots of resources to get you reading, inventing and creating at the library this summer.  Register and complete our Summer Reading Bingo Card for a chance to win great prizes.  We will supply reading lists, program information, and project ideas throughout the summer. Adults and teens may sign up for the summer reading program and make a fun craft out of recycled compact discs.  Pick up your book to alter and get started on your summer projects. See all of our great summer reading programs and events.

June is Audiobook Appreciation Month

During the month of June, celebrate Audiobook Appreciation Month! Audiobooks offer the same enjoyment of print books, but in an easy to use hands-free format that allows you the flexibility of enjoying some to time to “read” while in your car, on a flight, at the beach, or virtually anywhere. Whether you are already an avid listener of audiobooks or it’s your first time, we have a great variety of fiction and nonfiction titles that you can take on the go or enjoy from home. 

Get Zinio to take your magazines on-the-go!

Do you like to read magazines but are constantly on the go? The Bloomfield Township Public Library’s subscription to Zinio gives you access to more than 200 popular magazines! You can read magazines directly in your computer browser or download an app for your mobile device. Check out the Zinio Guide for details on how to get started.

Book Clubs @ BTPL

The Library is a terrific resource for local book clubs. We sponsor several of them such as Tuesday Book Club, Non-Fiction Book Club, Mystery Book Club, and Eleanor’s Book Club, which you can register for by clicking here, or just browse what the groups are reading.  You can find discussion guides and information on books and authors by clicking here.   We also have a Book Club Collection featuring more than fifty different titles, with multiple copies available for anyone to check out if you are interested in starting your own book club.
