May 31, 2014- Founder, Kareemah Batts and A.C.G. medal winning climber, Jon Sedor were special guest speakers at the Amputee Coalition's Limb Loss Education Day. It was so amazing meeting new folks and learning about all the great companies and programs out there helping those with limb difference. We thank you for the opportunity to share the sport of adaptive climbing with others.
June has been an action packed month and it keeps getting more exciting! Last week we got to participate in Outdoor Fest where outdoor related events took place all around the city. Our participation included an appearance at a Manhattan Wholefoods; being the guest non-profit for a day. Also, hosting our own fun creation, the Adaptive Climbing Contest. There anyone got the chance to see what it's like to climb adaptive like our regular participants. For their willingness to climb a mile in our harness they got a chance at fabulous prizes thanks to Eastern Mountain Sports and Tent and Trails.
June 10, 2014- We spent a fun evening with NYU Hospital's Pediatric's out patient Physical and Occupational therapy department's kids! Ages 3- 16 got climbing and made new friends! A special thank you to Arimed Prosthetics and Orthotics for supplying Pizza and drinks;to Author Lisa Battista for her wonderful story and coloring books for all the kids.

On June 24th at 5:30pm, A.C.G is hosting 10 different-abled individuals from Burke Rehabilitation Hospital at The Cliffs in Valhalla, New York. SIGN UP for belay volunteer duty and help change some lives!

Technique w/Tommy Lyon A.C.G. member, Tommy Lyon, is not only one of 2 leg amputees on the Evolv national team and a 2014 ABS Nationals medal winner. He also knows a thing or two about technique. On June 14th, he welcomes first timers and experienced adaptive climbers for a session at Philadelphia Rock Gym in Coatsville, PA. Evolv shoe demos will also be on hand for everyone to try out.
June 24th we are heading back outdoors! But not alone! Our awesome friends at Peak Potential are coming along! We have a limit of 10 outdoor spots for A.C.G. climbers. Just $25 for registration, which includes guiding service,lunch, etc.
We are on the road to Nationals! On July 18th-19th, eight A.C.G. adaptive climbers from New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts will be heading to Stone Summit Climbing and Fitness in Atlanta, GA; for the chance to qualify for the World Cup in Spain! We are only a few hundred dollars from our fundraising goal to cover climber cost assistance. You can help out by donating what you can to the cause!
