Foreign Execs Fearful of Anti-Bribery Crackdown
Risks associated with corruption have gone up significantly in the last few years with countries such as Australia and China both beefing up laws and taking a more vigorous stance on the policing of corruption. Foreign pharmaceutical companies in particular are finding it hard in China with the recent changes.

But attitudes have changed since China slapped GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) with corruption charges that could result in jail time for Mark Reilly, the British executive who once ran the company's Chinese operation. The charges against Reilly, coupled with a wave of official visits to other major pharmaceutical companies, have executives and business leaders in other industries questioning their safety.
