This year, we are proud to celebrate ten years of our organization Maendeleo! From the early beginnings in Washington, DC, we have grown both in supporters and projects The positive, gracious feedback we usually receive from recipients of our support in Tanzania, individuals and institutions, is indeed very encouraging and exciting!

In ten years of Maendeleo, we have supported development initiatives in Tanzania, mostly in healthcare. We have been able to sponsor 32 medical students in three major universities, through a merit-based Team Tanzania Scholar Award. We have shipped text books to universities worth US $20,000 - books which are not affordable to most students. We have also sponsored charity walks to raise awareness of major health issues, and numerous other projects. We are happy you have stood by Maendeleo in all these years and we believe we will achieve more. Na kazi iendelee!

This year, we plan to raise US$10,000 to mark ten (10) year anniversary of Maendeleo. 

Our flagship project remains Team Tanzania Scholar Award, which will continue to be given to medical students at Bugando, KCMC and HKMU, as it has been in previous years.

For the first time, we are excited to expand this award to nursing students, starting with Bugando University.
