EuropaBio and Smithers Rapra, in association with IAR, unveil the agenda for the European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology (EFIB) from 1-2 October 2014 taking place in the heart of Champagne-Ardenne, France
This year's event, which takes place during the week preceding European Biotech Week, includes a high level plenary with French ministerial address, and European Commission officials debating about the future evolution of the European biobased economy. These insights will be followed by discussions chaired by Ian Hudson, President EMEA DuPont de Nemours International, featuring representatives from Shell and European Bioplastics.

Seeking approval: the challenge with biotech crops in the EU

The delay is twice as long to have something approved in Europe compared to the US; it takes an average of four years in the EU to approve GM products for import, while the US is aiming at 1.5 years.
