Lesson 280: Breathing Grace
Christ’s love does not depend on what I do; it is always available and surrounding me. I will function better if I breathe regularly without skipping a day.
The picture above is from the cover of the wonderful book “Breathing Grace” by Harry Kraus, M.D., a missionary surgeon in Kenya.
We’re confident that our status with God does not change. We’re also confident that our ability does change. Each believer has the indwelling power & strength of God.
At salvation we become new, different creatures. Our new nature includes new desires, priorities and abilities.
Faith enables us to breathe God’s grace, so that we can run our race with endurance.
2 Cor.5:17 if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
2 Cor.3:18 we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
Rom.6:4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
1 Pet.1:23 you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
