A senior health aide for a Georgia congressman has taken his expertise to a California-based biopharmaceutical company.

David Pulliam has been hired as a manager of government affairs at Gilead Sciences Inc. after serving as Rep. Phil Gingrey's (R-Ga.) senior health policy adviser for almost two years. Gingrey serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee's Health Subcommittee. Gilead Sciences focuses on developing and commercializing antiviral drugs, including some of the first complete treatments for HIV

Pulliam got his start on the Hill as an intern in Rep. Bill Cassidy's (R-La.). He spent the next two years in Cassidy's office climbing up the ranks to legislative assistant before joining Gingrey's staff.

Pulliam holds a bachelor's in economics and environmental studies from the University of North Carolina.
