That Others May Live Foundation 1911
USAF Rescue had its beginning during WWII as an August 1943 mission by the US Army Air Corps in Burma. The US military sidearm most recognized from WWII is the 1911 pistol designed by John Browning in 45 ACP. Remington was one of the makers of the 1911 sidearm issued during the war. Remington has not made the 1911 in 90 years. The 1911 used for this project is the Remington R1s stainless steel model. Stainless was chosen as it is resistant to the elements. This particular sidearm is designed as, and intended to be, an open carry gun.
