How does a Business Consultant and Human Resource Consultant work together to enhance business performance - Read on.....

Getting your business right from the financials to your people matters can be daunting even for the most seasoned professional.  At Fresh HR Insights we offer a flexible External Human resource Consultant service BUT why do you use a HR Consultant?

Within every Organisation out there, there is a Human Resource department within that Organisation that is responsible for many things that go on in the Organisation. For those Organisations that do not have one of these departments, then they are only hurting themselves in the long run since they are going to find that there are several things that the human resources consultant can do for the business that is going to help improve the business in many different ways.

In order to know what the Human Resources consultant does in an Organisation, the person must first understand what the human resources department is there for. They are basically the link between the company and the employee. They are there to settle grievances that may come about and to look for ways in which they can improve the work environment for the employee, while still maintaining the companies integrity. So with that being said, the first task that most human resources consultants tackle, is making the company one that hears out their employees and making sure that the employee understands that they do have somewhere to turn when they are needing help. They may do this by broadcasting their availability, as well as making sure that they are helping those that are in need.

Secondly, the human resources consultant is going to address the management within the company. For example, they are going to find that one of their main jobs to the company is to make sure that the management is working in a way that is not costing the company. For example, if they find that there are too many managers in one department they may recommend a course of action for the company to take in order to make sure that this department is functioning in a way that it should be functioning.

When it comes to employee relations, the human resources consultant may devise ways in which the company can make the employees feel more appreciated. For example, they may throw company picnics, sponsor some sort of trip that the employees can take and so forth. Their main goal is to make sure that employees are happy with the company so that the company can retain those employees instead of having a high employee turn around

For the firm, they are going to notice that by hiring a Human Resources consultant that they have greatly increased the chances of the company keeping its employees, plus they have improved the company overall. Before the human resource consultant the company heads may not have realized that they were alienating their employees or that they were devoting too much man power to one area. Basically, the human resources consultant comes in with a fresh eye to things and can give the company exactly what they are needing, even if they are unsure of what they needed to have in the company in the first place. These ideas are what have made some companies stay around for years and years without having to worry about the economy and other factors that make some firms bite the dust.

With your people matters now in hand thanks to the expert Team at Fresh HR Insights you may now need some help getting the other areas of your  business streamlined. At Fresh HR Insights we work with a lot of Business Coaches and this month we want to introduce you to Larry Benson BUT  why do you use a Business Consultant

The short answer is that you don’t necessarily see the benefit in having someone to tell you about your business because you started it and it is profitable and the world is good.

But would it still look as good if you found that you were leaking profit at the average of 10% of your turnover. That is what we find on average. We have a way of measuring what it is in your business.  This takes a couple of hours all up and is free. The decision you then have to make is:

”Do I want the leaking profit and is it large enough to make it worthwhile to chase?”

We look into the engine room of your business. The profit we are looking at is already there, it just needs the right strategies for your business to have it. We help you develop these strategies and then help you to implement them. It is easy to write a business plan and walk away like many Business Coaches and Consultants do, but that is the easy part. You need to have the discipline and the encouragement to make it work and to grow your business into the future.

Thexton Armstrong has identified 8 core areas where there is significant growth available in every Business and our Business Success Plan addresses them all. The combination of good staff and good systems will make your business grow. Many business owners I speak with don’t want their business to grow because more staff means more problems.

Not necessarily true. If you have the best staff which Fresh HR Insights can help you with, and the best systems, which the Thexton Armstrong Business Success Program can deliver, then the business cannot help but grow itself naturally and without stress.

What size business do I need to be to use the Business Success Program? The answer is every business from small to large, start up to well established can benefit.

Get it right and you will have the financial rewards you deserve and the time and money for the lifestyle you deserve for your work and courage in doing your own thing. Get it wrong and you have financial difficulties, lack of time, lack of lifestyle and stress which you don’t deserve for the courage you have shown to start your own business.

Fresh HR Insights BLOG

I have been writing an assignment on Survival strategies – which ones are evident in the organisation and do they signal consent or resistance to management control? As part of my process of researching I have come across this wonderful article by Dr. Marcia Sirota, M.D. (see below)

If you are a follower of Fresh HR Insights and have connected with me either through networking or as a client you will know that I have a belief “I do not go to work to be miserable so why should others” and if you have been a student or mentee of mine you will know that I strongly advise, as an HR professional, you minimise any workplace friendships as who is your friend today you might have to dismiss tomorrow. Some people say I am harsh but from experience I say that I am being realistic. Click HERE to read more
