Plymouth Plan


Wendy has been out and about on the sofa with Plymouth City Council planners asking for your visions for Plymouth for 2031. Over the next 2 months there are several opportunities for you to attend training on how to facilitate a Plymouth Plan Consultation Event.

Fairness Commission 


3 meetings in this VCS leadership group have decided to activate a media campaign and convene meeting with our Plymouth MP's to discuss actions in terms of the recommendations - watch this space!

POP Website

Over the last month the POP Team have been working hard to make the website your place to go for latest information.  We aim to have all meetings and latest news on the site within 5 working days of the event taking place.  For example read about our Economic Development Meeting in July

POP Training & Events Calendar

The POP Team have been working with Nick from Crunch Creative to make the Events Calendar more user friendly.  This has been improved so that you can complete the Advertise Your Event Form which will notify us and we will upload to the Calendar.

Join us in working together to use this POP resource to keep the sector fully informed.

Call for nominations required by 10th September - Plymouth Drake Foundation

The Plymouth Drake Foundations would love to receive nominations from the people of Plymouth for our annual Celebration & Awards night on the Hoe in September.  
Can you nominate an organisation you believe has made, or are making, a ‘significant contribution to Plymouth's Community’.

Resource Sharing

Recycling Plymouth, based in Stonehouse, have started a new scheme - a Power Tools Swap Shop. Take any working small electrical item to them and you can choose any (working, refurbished, PAT tested) power tool to take away.  There’s a £1 annual membership fee for the swap shop, and you can keep on swapping for the whole year.  Details on their website here….

Funding

The People's Postcode Lottery has announced that the Dream Fund 2015 will open for applications on the 1st September 2014. Closing date 30 Sept. £750,000 will be awarded to ONE large charity and £250,000 to ONE smaller charity. The Dream Fund encourages not-for-profit organisations to collaborate to deliver a more effective service. 

FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR YOUTH MUSIC (The National Foundation for Youth Music)
Registered charities, not-for-profit organisations and profit-sharing organisations that are based in the UK and delivering projects in England can apply. Look out for application forms.
