Seminar@SystemX
On July, 1st, Jean-Daniel Fekete, research director at Inria and member of the IMM project, ran a seminar about Information vizualisation to understand and interact with data. Nearly 50 people, from SystemX and organisms of the Institute's ecosystem attended this seminar. See the summary of its discussions  and download its slide deck.

First meeting of SystemX's industrial partners Club
For the first time, SystemX gathered its industrial partners in order to give feedback on the past year. This first industrial partners club above all got a presentation of the new SystemX's projects currently under construction. This was followed by a sharing moment.

Paris-Sud Doctoriales
In the context of Paris-Sud Doctoriales, ten Phd students came to SystemX and had the opportunity to discuss with four of SystemX's PhDs during two hours : Nicolas Heulot, Mouah Yagoubi, Aymen Boudguiga, and Boussaad Soualmi. They exchanged good pratices (job applications, thesis valorisation, etc.). The visit ended with a demonstration of a 3D immersive vizualisation device used in the ROM project.

DGCIS
A delegation from DGCIS (General direction for industrial and services competitiveness) came to SystemX on June, 12th. They had the opportunity to discover one of SystemX's emblematic projects: MIC (modelization - interoperability - communication). Download the slide deck

New meeting of the Technological and Scientific council
SystemX's Technological and Scientific Council met for the second time, since its creation. Their strategic meeting was coupled with a demo-tour. Ffour projects presented their objectives and displayed their demos: the ROM, SIM, MIC and IMM projects. This gave rise to a lot of valuable exchanges.

2014 Systematic Convention
The 2014 edition of the Systematic Paris-Region Convention took place on June, 24th. The event gathered more than 600 participants, displayed about 30 products in the exhibition area and awarded two startups with the Systematic Innovation Price: Secure-IC and DotVision. SystemX participated in this convention and ran a booth whose focus was on the FSF project. The booth and its showcase project was visited by Genevieve Fioraso, Secretary of state dedicated to higher education and research. Find out more about the event.

Teratec forum
The Teratec forum took place on the1st and 2nd of July at Ecole Polytechnique. SystemX and Systematic Paris-Region jointly participated in the event by sharing a booth. The Institue was represented by the researchers working on high performance computing, notably Ming Chau, research engineer both on the APA and ROM projects.

R&D projects

ISE project
SystemX launched a new project this month called ISE (Secured intelligent Transport Systems). The kick-off took place on July, 1st. Brigitte Lonc,  delegated from Renault, is in charge of this project that aims at designing the overall security architecture of cooperative ITS (intelligent transport systems).

MIC project
Launched in 2013, the MIC project is building momentum by completing its expertise. Indeed, the project welcomed four new partners: SNCF, Artelys, The Cosmo Company, and IDIT. Read the press release

SIM project
Yves Baudier, SIM project manager, gave a talk during the Parisian NAFEMS conference on June 5th. His intervention focused on simulation standards. He took advantage of this opportunity to present the work done at SystemX in the SIM project. Download his slide deck

Projects@SystemX
MIC, IMM and OAR projects all organized an event each whose objectives were different depending on the project : finding new partners to extend the project, gathering current partners to exchange during a working day, etc. The next organized event will be SIP@SystemX, in September.

Talents in motion

Lincs seminar
On June, 5th, Luca Muscariello and James Roberts (ARE project) both gave a talk during Lincs' seminar. Their presetantions were respecitvely about  « An overview of recent results on Information-centric networking, with a focus on traffic control and caching » and « Enhanced Cluster Computing Performance Through Proportional Fairness ». Our partners

Vecsys
Vecsys redefined its activity on automatic speech processing and is now considering expanding abroad. This shift goes along with a new logo, a new website and a modified name: Vecsys becomes Vecsys Technologies. Discover their new website

Temis
Charles Huot, Temis' Chief Operating Officer, has just been elected President of GFII (French association for Information Industry - Groupement Français de l'Industrie de l'Innovation). At Temis, Charles Huot is in charge of strategic development and iInnovation and is also, among others, chairman of the Big Data Alliance's editorial committee.

Openwide
Openwide has just raised €4 millions in order to double in size. This strategy will allow  them, by 2019, to go from a small and medium entreprise to an intermediate size one (500 and more employees). Find out more
