In August, we'll be participating in the Artists' Open Studios at Britannia Works as part of the Hackney WickED Art Festival.
Join us on Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 of August at the LCBA studio for two days of demonstrations and events, along with books and artwork for sale by friends and members of LCBA.

Starting next week, LCBA will be hosting this year's Booksfromthefuture Summer School, a ten-day summer workshop on book design that focuses on self-initiated, practice-based inquiry.
The programme is organised and taught by Yvan Martinez and Joshua Trees, both designers and educators. This year, the workshops are co-taught by our friend Dante Carlos, whose book Art & Leisure and Art & Leisure we produced last year.

Last month, we were invited by Foyles Bookshop to run a series of events and workshops as part of the Grand Opening Festival of their new flagship bookshop on Charing Cross Road.
Over a weekend, we ran a series of bookbinding and printing workshops for both kids and adults; and we created a 'live' window-display, binding and printing in the new shop window.

Summer is the perfect time to join us for one of our regular workshops. Introduction to Bookbinding is held on Sunday 13 of July, and on the following Sunday 20 we will be running Introduction to Bookbinding: Hardback Binding - you can sign up for one, or both!
On Tuesday 22 July, we begin another session of Letterpress Nights. Letterpress Nights brings people together at the LCBA studio, one evening each week for a period of four weeks, to learn and practice letterpress printing with help and guidance from expert printmakers.
