This Week's Feature
On my new journey with Twisted Fiber Studio, I have an incredible support system of friends, family and especially my husband. He helps with new connections, tolerates shopping for art supplies, and listens to my ideas. Recently, though, he had to just shake his head at me. I planned an arts and crafts day with a friend to try out some new class ideas. The supplies were laid out on the dining room table awaiting her arrival. Among the supplies were three naked dolls. Did I mention they were headless and armless?
His comment to his friends on Facebook, with accompanying photo of said naked dolls, was, “I’ve decided it’s sometimes best not to ask my wife about her art projects.” As you could imagine, the comments went wild and over the top. It made me laugh and appreciate his support and humor, while realizing this was another form of promotion for me and Twisted Fiber Studio!

As I’ve mentioned in a previous newsletter, class development is serious business. It’s my product. But it is incredibly fun. Being covered in paint, glue, and snipped threads is one of my happy times. I know my friend and I had a great time catching up and trying out several ideas and techniques out.
You want me to get back to why there were naked dolls on the dining room table. Well, they are forms for one of my new classes -- making your own doll-sized dress mannequin. It is MUCH cheaper than buying them at a craft store and they don’t take much time to make.

Now you can create your own art doll creations by just borrowing your kid’s toys. What about doing the same thing with plastic cars or trucks or airplanes? These make fantastic room decorations for any age and the kids can help. Come on -- glue, paint, and paper? What is more fun than that?
