Only 8 Days Left

Dear Friend,

We want to update you on our ongoing Kickstarter campaign.  In the first week we met our initial funding goal of $15,000 to launch the online Global Jukebox Song Tree—Alan Lomax's unique resource for exploring world music and culture—and then created a "stretch" goal of $30,000, which will allow us to program new analytical tools for the Jukebox. These include a Virtual Dynamic Coding Sheet, giving users a tool for comparing individual performances with others around the world and investigating their similarities and differences, and a Patterns application, which will assist in plotting, mapping, and charting the distribution of musical traits across the globe.

With your support, we've raised almost $19,000, but we still have a way to go to reach our $30,000 stretch goal.

We have eight days to make this happen, and we need your help. Please spread the word and make a pledge. Your tax-deductible contribution will help complete the remaining programming, verify the metadata related to each song, and bring the Song Tree online. You can pledge as much or as little as you want. Every donor will be given early access to the Song Tree when it reaches the beta stage and before it is publicly launched, and we have some great rewards for higher pledge levels.

Please go to our Kickstarter page for more information. As always, thank you for your continued support of our programs.

Sincerely,
