Earlier this month I wrote asking you to partner me in my latest project It's Up 2 Us which aims to build the climate movement in WA and across Australia.
The response has been inspiring and we've raised $5,500.
That's $5,500 from people in the community who want to see more climate action, who want us to collaborate and be effective.
That's everyday people who want us to ensure WA and Australia is doing it's bit to put us on the path to a safe climate future.

Raising $10,000 by the end of June seemed like a crazy task and yet we are well on our way to accomplishing it.
With current governments winding back effective climate legislation and opening up our country to even more fossil fuel projects it's critical we build people power and hold our political and business leaders to account. It will not be easy to secure a safe Climate Future. It's going to take a huge effort and we need as many people as possible working on this.
Whether you can financially contribute or not I also ask that you share this campaign and encourage those you know to contribute if they can?
Last week the Environment Minister for West Australia gave approval for a company called Buru to begin exploratory Fracking in the Kimberley without any environmental assessment.
As some of you may be aware, this is not the first Fracking project in West Australia. They have already begun exploratory fracking near Enneaba and the fossil fuel industry and our government have plans for 10's of thousands of wells across WA.
Why is this a big deal?
Even if Fracking didn't pose a tremendous risk to our land and water (which it does) I'd still be working hard to halt the industries expansion throughout our state.
We know as a matter of urgency that we need to transition to a low carbon society. Here in Australia we have the technology and resources to transition to a renewable future and yet investing time and energy into Fracking will delay that transition.
The Department of Mines and Petroleum completed some research and they know that the majority of people in WA do not support this industry. It's critical that the government and companies involved hear from people within the community. In coming months I'll be sharing ways you can participate through my campaign blog.
Over the 12/13th July we're inviting people to the Midwest to experience for themselves the progress the Fracking Industry are making. We'll discuss how folks can get involved including how we can promote a clean energy future here in WA. Reply to this email is you want more info about this oppotunity.
If you don't know about Fracking or it's impacts on water, land and communities check out some of the videos from Lock the Gate.
