Lesson 286: Trusting That God is Able
The believer’s status as God’s child can never change.
The Holy Spirit changes our ability. Our union with Christ is “living, loving, lasting”. As we trust in these truths, we find power to change and grow in holiness.
God calls us to effort and dedication as we pursue holiness; He requires us to work.
But we are willing and able to work because our relationship with God is secured by Him. He died for us, rose again, and indwells us with His power.
We must defeat doubts by trusting Christ, not only at salvation, but every moment of our life.
As a believer, you have trusted Christ with your eternal destiny. Will you trust Him with today?
Prov.3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Be confident that His righteousness is yours because He said so; He cannot fail or lie. You can take that to the bank.
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Phil.4:13
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
