Lesson 287: Nothing is Impossible With God
Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
Making progress against your sin is possible, because nothing is impossible with God.
We tend to focus on our sinful failures, our lack of growth in holiness. We compare ourselves with others who seem to be so strong in the faith.
On our worst days, we wonder whether God has given up on us. We may even feel that God is so disappointed with us that He hates us.
But God’s Word assures us that nothing can separate a believer from God’s love. Rom.8:38-39
We are weak, and we have failed often. But that does not establish our identity.
We are God’s beloved children. We are still sinners, but we have the status of God’s Son.
We have the ability to grow and change to become more like Him, because of Him.

- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
