Lesson 292: The Depth of Our Need
When Jesus met the woman at the well, he offered her living water and eternal life, even though He knew she was living in sin. John 4:7-29
Jesus told the rich young ruler in Luke 18:20 to keep the commandments. Some have accused Jesus of teaching 2 gospels.
But Jesus first had to convince the young man that he was a sinner. The woman at the well already knew she was a sinner.
The young man said that he had kept the commandments. Jesus had just told him that only God is good; seconds later, the young man said “So am I.” The young man claimed to be God. He committed the worst possible sin & broke the 1st commandment.
The young man unknowingly committed this sin while face to face with God.
Rev.3:17 you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind & naked.
About This Series

- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
