Interfaith Events Create Compassion in Chicago


Monday June 30 | Multi-Faith Veteran Support Project         

The McCormick Foundation is partnering with local organizations to mobilize the Illinois faith community to improve the  quality of life for Veterans and their families through the Multi-Faith Veteran Support Project

McCormick would like to invite you to an informational meeting about this initiative, planned for a broad range of faith leaders, interfaith enthusiasts and the community:


July 4 Weekend | Summer of Faith and Action Continues 

Please join us this summer in amplifying the City of Chicago's call for compassionate action to "take back our communities" and "put down the guns." Interfaith advocates are encouraged to collaborate to make peace happen in our neighborhoods, to make strangers into neighbors, and to transform fear and anger into compassionate relationships!
  • Who: Chicago-area Citizens 
  • Where: Places of worship, parks, community centers and businesses 
  • When: July  4  | July 5, 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. 
Suggestions for organizing your community's participation include prayers and rallies, bbqs, door-to-door canvassing and more. Organized events can display anti-violence banners and more.

Cities Responding to Bid Process for Next Parliament

The opportunity to host the next global Parliament of the World's Religions summit launched in an announcement June 17. Interfaith groups, city tourism bureaus, and interested parties can

Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago Honors Three Distinguished Interreligious Leaders


The Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago (CRLMC) presented its inaugural Interreligious Leadership Award recognizing the distinguished His Eminence Francis Cardinal George, Ilene Shaw, and Rabbi Herman Schaalman in a downtown Chicago ceremony June 19.

Remembering Chicago's Sacred Spaces Solidarity Pledge 

The Parliament's celebrates the second anniversary of its solidary pledge! The first Sharing Sacred Spaces group of eight religious congregations gathered in downtown Chicago in June 2012 upon completing the first of a three-year interfaith program.
