June 2014 Newsletter
Welcome to a very special "Drowning Prevention Week" edition of the RLSS Avon & North Wiltshire branch newsletter! There's still time to get involved: why not post a water safety message to all your friends on Facebook? Or, share a link to the hard hitting RLSS video, "Filling up"? Or simply swim a few lengths and add your miles to our bid to swim around the UK?

RLSS A&NW Drowning Prevention Events
Many thanks to Alice, Alex and Maren from Bristol University LSC for running two FREE lifesaving taster session to raise awareness of Drowning Prevention Week. Together they taught nearly 150 children the SAFE code, and their exploits even made it into the local paper.
Filling Up
RLSS UK has launched a hard-hitting film to warn 11-15 year olds of the dangers of open water. The video focuses on a young boy who meets his friends near a river and takes part in a dare which has tragic consequences. Please share this video and help to avoid a tragic repeat of last summer when more than 30 people lost their lives to drowning in just seven weeks.
