What Are We Doing
A lot of people have been asking where we will be living next year. I’ve even had a few job offers, so I guess people are also wondering what we’ll be doing for work, etc. for the next year. We are getting closer to understanding these things ourselves, and we thought it was about time we shared it with our family and friends.

PackingIn our last newsletter, we said that we were hoping to move to New Jersey, Massachusetts or North Carolina, and many of our friends and family helped us look at options in each of these states. The doors have been opening the widest for us to move to Massachusetts, where we lived for a year before coming to PNG.

This will be particularly sweet because my parents and sister live in the same area. The kids will be attending the school that Makenna went to for Kindergarten. Each year, her class continues to interact with our family sending Makenna letters and questions and communicating with us. We also have a few affordable housing options in the area, which makes it even more viable.

The other question has been, “What will you be doing for work?” The answer is simple; “I will still be the Field Coordinator (FC) for Papua New Guinea for The Seed Company.” One of the reasons that we were originally excited about the job is that I can do it from the US. Most FCs live in the US and travel to their area two or three times a year.  I will work remotely via email and Skype and visiting Papua New Guinea throughout the year. Sarah will continue to help me with the internships that we manage.

Right now, we are packing and getting ready for the long trip home.  For Sarah’s thoughts on this, read HERE and HERE. BuhutuSarah has been on bed rest for the last two weeks, so it has been even more hectic than it should be. I had to cancel my last village visit to the Madang region to help out at home. If you missed my blog post about my last village trip for a while you can read it HERE.

Makenna has made very good friends here in Ukarumpa. Pray for good closure as she says her goodbyes.

Sarah has been on bed rest for the past two weeks, and is starting to show signs of improvement. Pray for continued healing and comfort as we travel in the coming months.

Josh has been trying to be Mr. Mom as well as dad, and continue to do his job.
