Entry Countdown Begins
Just 10 days until entry for the 2014 National Championships closes on 30th June 2014! Please note that the late payment fee is payable for all outstanding entry fees from 1st July.

Raffle
Many thanks to the companies who have already donated prizes for the Charity Raffle. More details in the next newsletter. We are looking for further raffle prizes please contact admin@optimist.org.uk
The Hoody Shop is OPEN
But the deadline for having your sailor's name included in the design is rapidly approaching - sailors must be entered and PAID by 23rd June.
Hoodies are available in a huge selection of colours in both Child and Adult Sizes. Rugby Shirts are also available in Adult, Ladies and Child sizes. Both items can be personalised.
Please note that the sizes do come up quite snug, please check the sizing on the website carefully.
Orders need to be placed BEFORE 10th July and all the garments will be delivered to WPNSA for collection at the event.

VOLUNTEERS
The Nationals is a huge event to plan and run. We do expect ALL families to help in some capacity during the week. There are a HUGE number of volunteers behind the scenes - safety, race management, event management, results. In many cases these volunteers have been working on the event for months beforehand; are first on site/last to leave; are out on the water all day/all weekand often have other family members signed up for a role!

Regatta Fleet Parents on the Water
If you would like to go out on the water, we would love to have you. There are a mix of roles to fill, and many don't need any experience. Please CLICK HERE to sign up.
Gopher/s
We are looking for a sailor sibling/older teen to help out with a range of duties during the week. Helping in the race office, with Regatta Fleet, sorting gifts/competitions etc. This is a paid role - please contact admin@optimist.org.uk if you are interested/
Charity Road Race
Valeria Sesto has kindly volunteered to organise a sponsored Road Race on the Thursday after sailing, in aid of the Andrew Simpson Foundation. Further details will be posted on the Event page.

We need you to become an IOCA Measurer!
Maintenance Measurer Course - Wednesday 6th August
Ian Harris (IOCA Technical Officer) with Andy Felton and Steve Main will be running a Maintenance Measurers course at the Nationals. The course will cover Foils, Spars, Sail Numbers, Paperwork and an introduction to Sail Measurement. Places are limited.
Sail Measurement Course - Thirsday 7th August
Debbi Smith from the RYA will be running a Sail Measurement course.
Cost of the sail measurement course is £35

Table Top Sale
After the success last year of the clothing stall for unclaimed kit, we are thinking of running a table top sale this year, so that parents can sell their unwanted kit. We need some volunteers to run it. If you are interested in helping out, please sign up on the Volunteer roster

RIBs to be Transported
Although someone has kindly come forward with an offer to transport the Feva ET RIB, we are unsure if the trailer will fit oppies. If there is anyone planning to travel by car with an oppie on the roof, and could tow the RIB, I would be really grateful. It needs collecting from Hedge End (SO30 2PA) on Saturday after 3pm, and returning to Hedge End or HISC at the end of the event

RIB Registration
If you are planning to bring a RIB to the Nationals you MUST contact the Event Safety Officer (Paul Thompson) for details regarding registration.
Coach Accommodation
We have somespare places available for coaches in Portland House (shared rooms). If you are looking for accommodation for a coach, please contact gillian@schonrocks.com
T-Shirt Design Competition
Some fantastic designs have been received, We'll be deciding on the winner very shortly...but you'll have to wait and see the winning design at Registration!
