KOTESOL members can get their International Conference (IC) passes at last year's rates by pre-registering this month! July 1-31, 2014, is IC Early Bird Pre-registration; for this month ONLY, members can register for the conference for 40,000 won.
Regular pre-registration will be from August 1-September 23. During regular pre-registration, prices for attendees will be as follows:
- Members: 50,000 won
- Non-members: 75,000 won
- Groups (5+ people): 65,000 won/person
- Undergraduate students (with ID): 25,000 won
Note: These prices include admission to the conference on October 4 and 5 only. Tickets to the pre-conference workshops on October 3 must be purchased separately. Pre-conference workshop tickets will be available for purchase starting August 1.
Remember, your membership must expire on or after October 31, 2014, to qualify for Early Bird Pre-registration and member rates!

Showcase your oratorial prowess and win a cash prize of up to 200,000 won in the KOTESOL-KAFLE-Toastmasters Speech Showdown! The first round is happening now through August 15. Just prepare a 5- to 7-minute speech that answers the question "What student has inspired you the most?", videotape your speech, and submit your video before 11:59 p.m. on August 15.
To enter, you must be:
- A member of KOTESOL or KAFLE
- Pre-registered to attend the KOTESOL-KAFLE International Conference (online registration and payment completed by August 15)
- A teacher
- Born before August 15, 1996
Selected entrants will be invited to present their speech in the final round: live, on-stage, in front of an audience at the International Conference. Complete submission guidelines are available online.

Would you like to help shape the future of KOTESOL? Have you been a member in good standing for at least 12 months? Consider running for national office! The following positions are up for election this year:

- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Nominations & Elections Committee Chair
- International Conference Committee Co-chair
Nominations close on August 21, 2014, and online voting will begin in early September, thirty days prior to the election date. Additional information and nomination forms can be found here.

On July 26 and 27, 2014, KOTESOL's affiliate, TESOL International Association, will host the TESOL 2014 International Academy on Leadership and Quality Assurance in ELT Organizations at Sookmyung Women's University in Seoul. The two-day special event will provide "practical, research-based ideas, strategies, and tools to help [participants] improve the quality of [their] ELT organization through in-depth, hands-on workshops led by globally recognized experts in the field." Participants will earn TESOL International Association’s ELT Leadership Management Certificate, typically only available at TESOL’s convention. Spaces are limited. Register by July 4 for a discount.
