A few weeks ago, as he accepted our MAGIS Global Changemaker Award, our friend Graham Macmillan reminded us that many of our greatest heroes are what we might call "Quiet Builders" - people who work humbly behind the scenes, steadily improving conditions for those less fortunate with hard work and little fanfare; not unlike Graham himself, we dare say.  The broad public may not know their names or faces, yet, they are known by their impact in the community.

In the past decade, what was once a novel approach to doing good blossomed into a worldwide, social innovation movement, gaining momentum and bringing us now to a tipping point.  Behind this movement, we see an army of Quiet Builders.

It is to all of you "Quiet Builders" out there that we dedicate this issue of our newsletter.  You, working long hours to chip away at inequities in your corner of the world, see all that's left to do rather than all that you've done.  We salute you.  We celebrate your humility, your perseverance, and your quiet selfless ambition to do what begs to be done.

Look for Quiet Builders throughout this issue, like our MAGIS Honorees Sally Osberg and Graham Macmillan.  The 13 entrepreneurs in our current GSBI Accelerator cohort who are devoting their spare hours to GSBI curriculum work, not for personal gain, but to help more people.  The impact investors of Toniic and those now meeting at the Vatican to mobilize dollars towards helping the poor.  Young idealists, like our own students: Jack Bird, who compiled a manual on agroforestry that no professor required, and Micah Klaeser, who developed drone technology to deliver medical supplies rather than bombs.

Read on, and if you find something connects or you know a Quiet Builder we should celebrate, drop us a note.

Warm Regards,
