Dear Moms and Dads
This will be the last newsletter of the term. The staff and Board of Governors would like to thank you all for your support and generosity over the last term.
Special thanks to the fundraising committee for their hard work. To date we have raised R   . Thank you!
To all those travelling this holiday, travel safe and we look forward to seeing you all back at school on Monday 21st July for the start of the 3rd Term.
Building progress and renovations to date.
Just to let you know what we have done so far with regard to the guttering and drainage at the school.
*The Rainbow guttering has been replaced and all the leaks have been fixed. Now the leaks appear to be fixed, we are now in the process of finding quotes to install the long awaited ceiling. In the Shark class as well.
*The storm water pipe running under the large jungle gym has been located and now we will begin the process of channelling the rainwater away from the building and directly into the storm water pipe.
*The leak in the Stay and Play room will be attended to during the holidays.
HEARING SCREENING TESTS
Please bring in your R50. We will schedule another day for the screening tests next term. This is most important particularly for the Grade R children.
FATHER’S DAY AT FHPPS
 8am-10.30am on 27th June 2014

This Friday the last day of the 2nd term, we have our Father’s Day at fhpps. This is a chance for the dads to spend the morning at the school doing activities with their children. School closes at 10.30am and then aftercare takes over until 6pm as usual. Please dads take this opportunity to take the morning off work and spend it with us!!!!
 
Please could the children bring in some sausage on Friday morning. The sausage is braaied and shared among the children and dads.
If your child needs a specific type of sausage- has allergies etc, please let the teacher know and please put your child’s name on the package!!!We will braai this sausage separately.  
TRIVIAL PURSUIT EVENING-15th Aug -Fun evening for parents and friends at the Fish Hoek Cricket Club.
SOUP ON WEDNESDAY FOR RAINBOW EDUCARE
Thanks to the moms and dads who have
offered to make soup for Rainbow Educare on a Wednesday. Please  contact Robynne if you can help donate ingredients!
We’re collecting tinned tomatoes, and beans, dried soup mix and veg stock for this Wed soup pot. Please pop your donations into the Mandela Box.
R10.000,00 DRAW!( Friday 26th Sept)
Tickets for the R10.000,00 draw are available in the office at R100 per ticket. Only 250 will be sold. Don’t delay and plan to get your ticket soonest!! Family and friends are welcome to come in to buy a ticket too!
You do not need to be at the draw to win the money prizes, however
your ticket must be there to win the spot prizes.

Please support our school by getting a ‘My School Card’. Forms can be filled in on-line!This a very easy way of getting funds for our school. Please support!

OPEN DAY EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9AM 

Lets share our wonderful school with family and friends. Fish Hoek Pre-Primary will be giving prospective parents an opportunity to come and have a look at the school in action. Interested parents are welcome to pop in on Wednesdays at 9am for a school tour and chat. The first Open Day this year is on Wednesday 5th February.
Please spread the word and let more children benefit from our fabulous, warm, caring and educational environment.
We cater for children 2 years until 6 years.

SPARE CLOTHES
Please remember to pack in some spare clothes for your child each day, particularly the younger ones. The children often need to change for various reasons and it becomes a little tricky when there is nothing for them to wear!!!

Starfish class

We are learning about “Transport and Road safety” as well as “Solving difficult problems with our friends” this week.  Please encourage transport books or items for discussion ring time.  Please remember “Dad’s day” this Friday 27th from 8:30 to 10:30.  Please remember to bring sausage for the braai.  We look forward to seeing you all there.  Can’t believe this is the final week of Term 2.  Just want to wish you all a wonderful and safe holiday.  Holidays are a wonderful time to organise play dates with friends or to play board games and educational games with your children.  Travel safe!  Colleen and Rita

Hello everyone. Just a reminder for the dads to come and spend the morning till 10.30am with your child in the class on Friday. Bring some sausage to braai as well. LOST PROPERTY
Please look in the lost property box in the Stay and Play area. There are so many items of clothing. We really cannot keep it all and will be sending unclaimed items off to Masi at the end of the term if it is not claimed!
