The Village at Meridian and Kleiner Park Did Not Happen by Chance

Last week elected city leaders from communities across Idaho were in Boise for the Association of Idaho Cities for their annual conference. As part of their conference activities they were able to experience our Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park and the Village at Meridian. While they were amazed by the these community assets, what many were not aware of was the tremendous amount of work, the number of years, the efforts towards a shared vision, and the many dedicated individuals and groups that worked to bring this entire project to where it is today.

City Achievement Awards
Last week at the Association of Idaho Cities (AIC) conference, the City of Meridian submitted six projects and programs for consideration of the City Achievement Awards which are given to programs that are considered to be “creative, innovative and solution-oriented.” While not all of Meridian’s submissions received an award, each was featured at the conference during the expo for others from around Idaho to see and learn from.
