• Google Compute Engine: Introducing HTTP Load Balancing and SSD Persistent Disk on Google Cloud Platform- Google Cloud is launching two new products (now available in limited preview): HTTP Load Balancing and SSD-based Persistent Disk. HTTP Load Balancing - users can take advantage of load balancing across different regions -- balancing traffic among compute resources that are located in different data centres in different parts of the world. SSD-based Persistent Disk- Priced at flat $0.325 monthly cost per GB, SSD persistent disk supports up to 30 IOPS per GB. SSD persistent disk includes IOPS in the base price with no extra charges or fees, making cost completely predictable and easy to model.- June 16

New features include: Intelligent Agent Console, a rebuilt mobile app, new Business Insights and an API-first architecture. • Streem: Box Acquiring Streem: Bringing the Cloud to your Desktop- Learn more about Streem. With Streem, rather than files living directly on your computer’s disk, they are instead securely “streamed” to you on demand when you need to interact with them. The entire team at Streem will be joining Box. The underlying technolog behind Streem will be integrated into Box and Streem is working on setting up a seamless migration plan to transfer everything in your Streem account to Box. Alternatively, you'll be able to request a copy of all your original files inside a zip file. - June 16




• Amazon EBS: New SSD-Backed Elastic Block Storage- Amazon has enhanced EBS with the addition of the new General Purpose (SSD) volume type as their default block storage offering. General Purpose (SSD) volumes take advantage of the increasing cost-effectiveness of SSD storage to offer customers 10x more IOPS, 1/10th the latency, and more bandwidth and consistent performance than offerings based on magnetic storage.- June 17




• Intercom: Automate and Integrate with Intercom's new APIs- Intercom has introduced a number of new APIs: Conversations API - send messages to users via the API. Counts API - expose summary counts of user, company and conversation data. Companies API - create and update company information, add custom attributes, and add or remove users from companies. Users API - You can now get all standard and custom attributes about your users, along with social profiles, location data, and tag and segment information. The Events API has also been updated.- June 17




• Pingdom: Pingdom is joining SolarWinds- Pingdom is being acquired by SolarWinds, a publicly traded Austin-based IT-management and monitoring software company. SolarWinds released a statement: "Upon completion of the transaction, SolarWinds plans to allow the Pingdom business to continue operating as before and will maintain the Pingdom brand." With the acquisition of Pingdom, the two companies aim to be "the standard platform for web monitoring and performance management."- June 18
