At 94, Grady Grimm Enjoys Dancing at the Senior Center
Grady Grimm and his wife had
always enjoyed ballroom dancing together until she became ill and
then Grady became her caregiver
for several years. After his wife
passed away, he was so lost without her. His friends suggested
that he check out the Washington County Senior Center, which has line dancing classes. He had never line danced before but was eager to try. Since then, Grady has attended 79 line dancing classes, comes twice a week and has mastered the line dancing steps. Grimm says, "I keep my motor running. If people would know about the Senior Center, they could get out of the house. It would keep them from their TV and computers. This would reduce their medical bills, doctor bills and they would take less pills. If people would come, they would have fun and enjoy it."

Is a New Social Security Card in Your Cards?
To help combat the rising threat of fraud and identity theft, Social Security will no longer issue Social Security number printouts beginning in August 2014. If you need written confirmation of your Social Security number, perhaps your new employer needs verification, and you can’t find your Social Security card, you can apply for a replacement.
But do you really need a replacement? In most cases, you don’t need your card as long as you know your number. For all intents and purposes, your number is your card. Usually providing your number and identifying information is enough.
In the event you really do want or need a replacement card, either for yourself or for a child, you can find all of the details you need at www.socialsecurity.gov/ssnumber. The “Social Security Number and Card” page provides information on how to obtain a replacement card and what specific documents you need to provide.

Dance Aerobics Class
On Break During July
Thank goodness the Senior Center has so many other exercise classes to choose from, like Zumba fitness, gentle yoga, line dancing, strength training, tai chi, walk away pounds and walk your belly flat. We even have brand new elliptical machines, treadmills, recumbent bike and multi-station weight gym. For those who can’t get to the Senior Center, climbing stairs at home, joining a mall-walking group, or strolling the halls of your apartment building or retirement residence are all good ways to stay in shape.
