The Clery Act, Title IX, VAWA & Related Obligations for Education Abroad

The Forum on Education Abroad will deliver a full-day workshop, U.S. Legislation Packs a Suitcase:
The Clery Act, Title IX, VAWA & Related Obligations for Education Abroad
, on Monday, August 18th at Dartmouth College.

The workshop will address implications for education abroad as a result of recent federal activity: the Violence Against Women Act; Title IX and the revision to the Handbook for the Clery Act. It is co-sponsored by the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA).

Topics to be discussed include:
  • What is the Clery Act?
  • What is the Violence Against Women Act?
  • What is Title IX?
  • Where do they intersect?
  • Where and how do they differ?
  • What are our obligations with respect to these Acts?
  • How do we build a culture of reporting and compliance when incidents occur thousands of miles away?
