2014 Vascular Annual Meeting recap




The 2014 Vascular Annual Meeting attracted over 2,500 professionals including over 200 residents and students interested in the specialty. General surgery residents and medical students participated in an extensive program which included a simulation training session, tailored breakfast sessions, a surgical skills competition, and much more. 

Save the date for the 2015 Vascular Annual Meeting which will take place on June 17-20 in Chicago.  Scholarship information will be available in December.

Another surgeon’s error – Must you tell the patient?

YES: Surgeons have a duty to tell patients when a medical error has been made by a physician colleague.

Surgeons have a moral and ethical obligation to inform a patient when a medical error has occurred, including cases when the error was made by another surgeon.



American College of Surgeons Medical Student Program
Medical students attending the 2014 ACS Medical Student Program from October 26-28 in San Francisco, CA, are invited to submit abstracts for basic science, clinical, or educational research projects in which they have a substantive role. The abstract submission deadline is Friday, July 18, 2014

The Society for Vascular Surgery's Resident and Student Outreach Committee has developed a useful toolkit to guide interested general surgery residents as they apply to vascular surgery fellowship training programs. The toolkit covers 10 key steps including:

•    Preparing for interviews

A 0+5 application toolkit will be available later this summer to help you prepare for the upcoming match.
