TRAIL CLOSURES:
Colorado State Trails and Great Outdoors Colorado have provided funding to repair a section of the Bear Creek trail located south of the reservoir. The repairs to the concrete trail will cause trail closures throughout the summer.

BCLP Bear Cubs

Explorers age 3-5 will have a blast at this new program!  Participants explore their natural environment through stories, songs and interactive activities. Cost is $5/session, and registration closes the Monday prior to each date.

NEW! Senior Naturalists

Participants will learn about the wildlife and natural history of Bear Creek Lake Park through hands-on education, programs and hikes.

Ages: 55 and over.
Fee: $5/session; park entrance fee is waived.
Registration deadline: The Monday before each session.

This summer our Colorado sky will be graced with three Super Full Moons! The first of the trio occurs this weekend, and you can enjoy it on foot as part of our Saturday Night Campfire programs!
Saturday Night Campfire Programs
Join us for an evening of fun and education for the entire family! A marshmallow roast will follow, weather permitting. No registration required. Park entry fee applies.
 
July 12 - Super Full Moon
Set out on the trail with park naturalists and experience this year’s super moon. We will watch the moon rise and search for the park’s nocturnal wildlife. No dogs please.

July 19 - Hawk Quest
Hawk Quest brings live birds of prey to our Learning Circle Amphitheater. You and your family will have a chance to view predator-prey relationship at close range. Don’t forget to bring your cameras!

July 26 - Bodacious Bats
Do vampire bats really exist? Are bats blind? Find out the answers to these questions and more as we unfold the secret life of bats. We will also go on a short hike in search of the bats that call the park home!

August 2 - Cosmic Gathering
Join us for this fun, informative evening about our connection to the cosmos. Learn about the tools an astronomer uses and how to navigate the stars. The astronomy team from Lookout Mountain Nature Center will be joining us.

August 9 - The Real Beetle Juice
Discover insect collection, cultivation and cooking techniques of people around the world. Then, treat your taste buds to some cooked bugs.
