Volunteer Opportunity

Jack E. Singley Academy Begins a New Program
with the 2014-2015 School Year
TEAMS (Together Everyone Achieves More Success)

Designed to involve every student on the Singley Academy campus by addressing individual needs, enhancing self-esteem, and improving success, the main purpose of TEAMS is to promote academic achievement and personal well being for each student.

To reach these goals, we will need to forge a three-way partnership among the students, the faculty, and the
community. The most vital link and resource is the one played by the community volunteer facilitating the program.

This program requires a community volunteer to be paired with a teacher for every classroom. TEAMS would meet once a month for a total of 10 meetings.

For more details about the program and volunteer opportunity, please contact Jill Dottson jdotson@irvingisd.net

Be sure to mention that you are a member of IWN.

What a great way to make a significant impact on the student body – our future community volunteers!

July Program

by Linda Lummus, IWN Program Chair

In 2013 IWN introduced a program called "Spirit of Place".  The intent of this type of program is to introduce IWN luncheon guests to members in their everyday world.

As a relational networking organization, we strive for each member to have a working knowledge of the other members of the network.  In many cases members do not have the opportunity to actually go and meet another member in their place of business, ministry, etc.  "Spirit of Place" programs do just that.  The Power Point presentations of the highlighted members take you into their offices, homes, client places, etc. and you get to know that member's background, philosophy of doing business, family and personal interests.  In essence it is like a group "One-On-One".

On July 22nd we will introduce you to a group of excited ladies. These ladies really have enjoyed putting their presentation information together and are looking forward to sharing with you.  Come and enjoy a cool salad lunch, listen to their stories and then spend a few minutes after the meeting thanking them for sharing.  You might just make a new BFF.
